Process Engineer - Probe Location: Durham, NC Relocation: Yes Travel: Minimal Position Responsibilities: Would you like to be a part of a fast-paced company that is a profitable, diversified, world-class company (not a start-up) in a very exciting and high growth market? Our client is a market-leading innovator and manufacturer of semiconductors. Their customers range from consumer products manufacturers to defense-related Federal agencies. The market opportunities for their chips and packaged devices are positioned to explode over the next ten years.
The Process Engineer - Probe is an individual contributor who may also manage a few support technicians. This engineer will be responsible for ownership of wafer probers and test equipment and will be part of a team that tests a broad range of products in high volumes.
Key Responsibilities: - 24x7 process and equipment ownership. Includes HW and SW
- Process improvement and development through carefully designed experimentation and implementation of process control and monitoring techniques
- Yield improvement through identification and elimination of yield limiters
- Insure complete process documentation and QS9000 compliance (FMEAs, Gage RnR and operation procedures)
- Mentoring, coaching, and training of process technicians
- Must have a "whatever it takes" attitude to get the job done (This may mean working 60 hours per week, weekends, nights, etc.)
- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, able to manage projects with minimal guidance
Qualification and Experience Requirements: - BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science or Electrical engineering or 5 years wafer probe experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identity manufacturing improvements, manage change and implement solutions
- Permanent residency / Green Card required
- Experience with SPC and experimental design
- Knowledge of and experience with MS Access and Excel
- Excellent computer skills
Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of mechanical design and machining
- Extensive wafer probe or semiconductor test is a plus
- Computer programming experience
- Knowledge of and experience with SAS JMP
