Company: $9.0 Billion, Web Services, Pacific Coast

Salary: $140K- $160K + Bonus + Options + Incentives

Reports To: VP

Our Client seeks an exceptionally motivated, capable, and driven Director of Marketing to lead a top-notch Marketing team. Our Client is creating a platform of building-block web services (such as storage, compute power, and payments) aimed at the broad Developer community. Hundreds of thousands of developers are already integrating with this organization's web services and building their businesses on top of these foundational components, enabling them to focus on adding value to their customers, rather than worrying about building and scaling infrastructure.

As Director of Marketing, you will have the unique opportunity to shape web services strategy, messaging, and business. You will work across multiple teams to position services, drive awareness, create demand, grow developer community, and help launch brand new services. Selected candidate must be comfortable with ambiguously defined problems, big challenges, quick changes, and balancing strategic thinking with tactical, detailed execution. The successful candidate for this position will have experience in understanding developers and know how to reach them, synthesizing messaging, building and executing demand generation strategies, running a marketing budget, and running an effective online customer acquisition portal.

We seek candidates who can show how they have grown businesses previously by owning significant responsibility in a lead marketing role -- managing a team specifically focused on demand generation/outbound marketing. A key aspect of the Director of Marketing role will be to establish marketing programs that are both creative and economically sound. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop positioning, messaging, and communications platforms for web services suite of offerings
  • Work across multiple teams including developer relations, outbound marketing, and product development, to formulate strategy and specific marketing programs
  • Partner with individual service teams to drive release plans and launches
  • Conceive and execute high-impact demand generation programs and events
  • Manage customer acquisition and resource portal
  • Create awareness and usage of web services

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in Marketing/Product Management
  • Experience in marketing enterprise software solutions, web services, or other technically focused services
  • Experience working with developer relations programs, outbound marketing, or business strategy for online or technical products
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical skills and business judgment
  • High level of motivation, independence, teamwork, and achievement required
  • MBA preferred
