President of International Teams/USA

 

Company: Elgin, IL - Relocation to Elgin, IL is provided

Salary: $100K - $120K, DOE

Summary: To lead in the development of four key ingredients for effectiveness of the ministry: vision and strategic planning, financial management, communication of the vision, and leadership development.

Position Responsibilities:

AGORA Consulting has been retained by International Teams to recruit their new President, International Teams/USA. International Teams is an interdenominational Christian, evangelical ministry living out worship and service to God from a wide range of backgrounds and styles in a world wide missional movement and has done so for over 40 years. The President and CEO of International Teams must have a heart for missions and evangelism that is exhibited in his/her daily life and experience, and lead by example in going to "extraordinary measures to bring the present and future hope of God's kingdom to each one (person)." The new leader of ITUSA must be able to articulate a passion for global ministries and he/she will effectively communicate the vision of ITUSA through speaking engagements and written communications. Additionally, the CEO will have significant responsibilities in the area of fundraising.

Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Develop shared vision and strategies for growth.
1. Develop strategies for I.T./USA's role in world evangelization, and serve on the International Leadership Team, helping to guide the work worldwide.
2. Forecast trends and oversee annual goal setting and long-term master plan development.
3. Provide senior leadership in the growth of the U.S. Urban ministry and encourage ethnic diversity and involvement in racial reconciliation.

B. Secure the future of the ministry by attentive financial management.
1. Present balanced budgets to the Board of Directors annually.
2. Establish and maintain a viable business model.
3. Build a strong Resource Development department that will generate income growth.
4. Maximize assets for ministry.

C. Develop leaders to fulfill the vision and accomplish growth.
1. Develop the IT/USA Board of Directors to fulfill its governance and Resourcing responsibilities.
2. In conjunction with the Executive VP lead U.S. staff--equip and manage key leaders to ensure excellence in spiritual focus, mobilization, training, member care, resource development, church relations, urban ministry, financial management, missional development, information systems and properties.
3. Build relations with worldwide staff-overseas travel to visit and challenge, and encourage missionary personnel as a member of the International Leadership Team.
4. Work collegially with the International Ministry Leader and the International Teams national leaders for the growth and effectiveness of our global mission.

D. Communicate the vision for growth.
1. Speak and write to motivate people regarding Kingdom advancement issues--stimulate increased desire for cross-cultural service and for reaching spiritually lost people.
2. Develop an IT/USA major donor support team through personal visits, phone calls, letters, and helping them find involvement opportunities in line with their skills and interests.
3. Assist the Development Director in communicating, motivating, appealing, and thanking donors for their involvement in advancing the ministry. Stimulate the Christian public with the values, vision, strategies and results of International Teams by preaching and writing.
4. Travel to churches to represent International Teams at certain functions in order to strategically connect the church and International Teams.
5. Build relationships with key Christian leaders--Board of Reference, mission-to-mission leaders, pastors, and world Christian leaders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. A decisive individual with a "big picture" perspective of International Teams globally.
2. Significant leadership abilities with visionary thinking and planning.
3. Experience in managing senior leadership.
4. Masters degree (MA) or equivalent; or ten to fifteen years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in key leadership areas at the highest level of an organization preferably within the non-profit sector.
5. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations. A passion for mobilizing churches, donors, applicants to be a part of International Teams.
6. Ability to know International Teams and all its field locations, teams, missionaries, and ministries.
7. Prior overseas ministry experience a plus.

Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. Must be available for regular interruptions from inquiring office staff and missionaries in training. Overseas travel required.
